2012 Oscars Trailer: Watch Now!
With the grandest of all Hollywood awards shows just over a month away, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has debuted the first trailer for the 84th Academy Awards.
Put together with the help of the people at Funny Or Die, the sixty-eight second clip is titled "Off the Grid" while featuring host Billy Crystal along with appearances by Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Robin Williams and Vinnie Jones.
Of the trailer, which will be shown in over 2,000 theaters beginning on January 6th, Academy Chief Marketing Officer Christina Kounelias, told, "We wanted to try something a little bit different this year instead of a traditional, clip-based piece. The trailer has a fun twist that conveys how excited everyone is to have Billy back."
Mike Farah of Funny Or Die added, "Our team had a great time working with the Academy and joining forces with Billy again. We think the trailer really speaks to the excitement around this year’s Oscars®, and Funny Or Die was honored to be a part of it."
The trailer comes as an effort to boost ratings for this year's Oscars, which are set to air live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, February 26th.
